When prompts live in ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, and Slack
Your best prompts are probably not in one place. Someone keeps the client brief in ChatGPT. Someone else rewrote it in Claude. Cursor holds a local rule. The “approved” version is buried in a Slack thread from March.
That scatter feels fine until onboarding, a bad output, or an audit asks a simple question: which wording did we actually use?

Where prompts hide
Prompts accumulate wherever people work:
Chat sidebars and custom instructions in ChatGPT or Claude
Cursor rules and project files on one laptop
Notion pages and Google Docs nobody maintains
Slack messages and pinned replies
Agent configs that silently diverge from the “official” brief
None of those surfaces was designed as a team catalogue. They were designed for personal speed. The organisation never got a source of truth.
Drift and onboarding cost
When five copies exist, quality depends on which tool someone opened. One person ships tighter constraints; another still runs last month’s tone. New starters ask around and get five answers. You cannot roll back a change you never recorded.
Scatter is not a motivation problem. It is a missing library problem.
Private library vs public prompt lists
Public “prompt library” pages help people collect ideas. They do not give your org owners, publish rights, or a shared live copy.
A team prompt library is different: private by default, versioned when wording changes, and shared at private, group, or org level. Strangers do not browse your client briefs.
Joyst is that library — not a free-prompt dump, not a marketplace.
Path to Joyst prompt management
Put the prompts that matter into Joyst:
1. Create the working copy in your org catalogue
2. Assign an owner and folder
3. Version with notes when the wording changes — see prompt versioning
4. Share with the groups who should view, use, or manage it
5. Reuse in agents and across the AI apps you already pay for
Keep API keys out of prompt text. Put credentials in the secrets vault.

FAQ
Is this just Notion for prompts?
No. You get draft/publish, version history, share tiers, and reuse into agents — not another doc dump.
Do we have to abandon ChatGPT or Claude?
No. Joyst is the catalogue and source of truth. Teams still run prompts in the tools they already use.
What if we only have a handful of prompts?
Scatter starts early. A library pays off as soon as more than one person edits or more than one tool consumes the same brief.
